Community Support Specialist

Job Type: Part Time
Job Location: Dayton

This is a part-time salaried position. The typical work schedule is as follows: Monday through Friday from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

Expectations

The Community Support Specialist is expected to: provide a safe and consistent environment; provide accountability for students in an empathetic manner; ask for clarity or guidance from the CEO, Executive Director, Program Directors or Business Development Director if there is a lack of understanding.

Primary Duties

  • Acknowledge and greet all visitors, students, family members and the public.
  • Represent VP to the community in a way that educates and advocates for the mission.
  • Answer phones, direct incoming calls and ensure timely and helpful responses to requests.
  • Notify staff of guests and appointments.
  • Support the CEO with projects, public relations events, and community events.
  • Maintain a well-functioning office environment and a welcoming and clean front office.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings that occur during your work hours to ensure clear and consistent communication.
  • Procure office and kitchen supplies as required.
  • Complete software updates and maintenance of VP computers and laptops.
  • Maintain copies of agency brochures and public relations materials. Compile packages as necessary.
  • Cover for Program Directors as required in the event of their absence.
  • Prepare and maintain student binders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Possess & maintain current Ohio driver’s license
  • Pass Drug Test (before & during employment)
  • Pass criminal background (before & during employment)
  • Proficient with Google Suite
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Effective public speaker
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Strong, proven Christian principles
  • Experience working with youth a plus
  • Social services, business, and/or biblical based degree a plus

Compensation & Benefits

  • $225 per week
  • $245 per week upon completion of probation period
