Health at Work: Victory Project founder Monnie Bush on helping Dayton youth break cycles of poverty

Health at Work: a podcast presented by Kettering Health and Dayton Business Journal

In the latest episode of Health at Work, Monnie Bush, founder and CEO of the Victory Project, discusses how the nonprofit empowers Dayton youth to break cycles of poverty.

Bush described how his faith and experience as a police officer led him to launch the Victory Project. He saw a need in the community but didn’t see a clear way for young people and families to access support.

“There are services out there, but they’re few and far between,” Bush said. “As a person of faith, I thought, ‘Man, the church has a big role to play here,’ but I didn’t see that happening either. Over time, I felt God saying, ‘You’re the church. What are you doing about it?’”
